Google recently announced a major update that will be coming to Gmail “in the coming weeks” but as we guessed it has been made available (at least on a desktop computer) very much sooner. You can enable it on your browser right now as a matter of fact and here’s how. Go to the gear icon to the right of your inbox and click ‘Configure Inbox’, that’s pretty much it, from there is will prompt you to choose which tabs you would like to be incorporated into your Gmail.

There is still no sign at this point of the new Gmail for Android but I predict that we will see the Gmail update hit Android within the next week at least for devices running Android 4.0 and up.
