Now that Samsung has unveiled their flagship phone for 2014 (the Galaxy S5) the next phone we get to speculate and wait to see is the HTC One successor. Last week we saw leaked press renders of the HTC M8 (or the “Brand New One”) thanks to @evleaks but now a tech reviewer on YouTube by the name of GadgetReviews has released a 12 minute long first look video of the M8.
The official video has been taken down already but iTechTriad has thankfully reuploaded it as you can see from above. In the video we do not learn much about the phone itself but we get a decent look at the hardware. The New HTC One will have both a sim card slot as well as a microSD card slot for expanded storage. This developer/beta device has the secondary camera as seen in other leaks but he has not found a reason for the camera. As for software, the navigation buttons have now become on-screen buttons instead of capacitive buttons. The actual software information was blocked on a firmware level so that the information could not be leaked but we are guessing it will be running Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sense 5.5.
Besides a refreshed brushed aluminum body with a secondary camera and refreshed camera software, and on-screen navigation buttons, the New HTC One looks to be a nice little upgrade to the One. We will see on March 25th what exactly this phone is packing and hopefully find out about some awesome new feature that we have not heard about as of yet.
