According to an ad that was spotted in what appears to be a newspaper, Sprint is going to be paying your Early Termination Fees when you switch over to Sprint and start a “Framily Plan”. Unfortunately the ad points out that this will only be a temporary promotion lasting tomorrow through May 8th instead of it being a permanent promotion like T-Mobile has famously done.
Diving a little deeper into this promotion it looks like Sprint will offer switching customers up to $650 dollars to pay towards their Early Termination Fees. There is also a line in the ad that reads,
“Customers simply trade-in their old phone to get up to $300 service credit with Sprint Buyback. And we’ll reimburse them up to $350 via Visa® Prepaid Card to cover their early termination fee or installment balance from their last carrier”
While this is a great move on Sprint’s part it’s too bad that they aren’t going to make this a permanent promotion. Still, this temporary promotion will surely get them a decent amount of new customers although with Sprint doing this as well with better implementation its going to be hard for Sprint.
