A couple days ago we saw some leaked photos of the Samsung Chromebook 2 and today it has become official. The 2 Series consists of two different models with 11.6 and 12.3 inch displays. Both models are very similar in specs but there is a slight bump in the 13-inch model. For example, the 11-inch display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 while the 13-inch has a more premium HD display at a resolution of 1920 x 1080.

11 Inch Model

Internally, the two models are almost identical with the Samsung Exynos 5 Octa-Core Processor except the 11-inch model is clocked at 1.9GHz while the 13-inch model is at 2.1GHz. Besides the CPU, both Chromebooks have 4GB of memory, 16GB of SSD storage, 720p webcam, microSD card slot, HDMI port, one USB 3.0 port and one 2.0 USB port. Besides that, the battery is supposed to last 8-8.5 hours based on which size you get.

13 Inch Model

As we noted in the leak, the lid of the Chromebook has the same look and feel of the fake leather backing on the Galaxy Note 3. The 11-inch model will be available in Classic White and Jet Black while the 13-inch model will be available only in Luminous Titan Gray.
