Since April 2011, Apple and Samsung have been in non-stop legal battles.  Apple first started this patent war when they filed suit against Samsung, claiming that their deviced physically look too simular to their “I” products.  Since then, Apple has tried to block the sales of Samsung Galaxy devices around the world.  So far, only Germany has stopped the sale of any Samsung device (Galaxy Tab 10.1).

Lee Younghee, head of global marketing for mobile communications at Samsung, has recently stated that Apple has been “free riding” on some of their patents.  The patents that they are refering to are some that deal with 3G services.  Samsung has gotten tired of Apple bullying them and plans to fight back.  They plan to strongly fight Apple with the use of their patents.

Apple has comments on the subject saying that these patents has too much to do with any phone connecting to 3G networks.  They also claim that if this suit does go through, the most it will do is cause a FRAND (fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory).  This would mean that Apple would have to pay Samsung a licensing fee.  Apple has not been know to play nice with other companies.

Anyone else tired of all these patent suits?
