During the announcement of the Samsung Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and the Gear Fit in Taiwan, Samsung let the pricing be know for the Gear 2 and the Gear Fit. While the pricing was not stated for the Gear 2 Neo, Samsung stated that the Gear 2 would go for $295 (8,999 TWD) and the Gear Fit would retail for $197 (5,990 TWD). We can only guess that the Neo will be at the same price point as the Fit.

While these prices have not been confirmed in the states, we are pretty sure this is where Samsung will set its prices at. Back when the original Galaxy Gear was release it was priced at $300 so it would only make sense that Samsung continues this pattern. It is also easy to believe that the Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit will be for sale at $200 because of their downgrade in power and functionality.

Just a quick reminder that all of these are now running on Samsung’s own Tizen OS instead of a custom skinned Android and that these ‘smart watches’ will only work with Samsung Galaxy devices.

Do you plan on purchasing any of the new Samsung Gear? I know I would pick up the Gear Fit but because of the limitation that it will only work with Samsung Galaxy devices means I will be saving all of my money for an Android Wear device.

UPDATE: AT&T has confirmed that the above prices are correct.

So to recap:

  • Gear 2 | $199
  • Gear 2 Neo | $199
  • Gear Fit | $199
