Great news for Halo fans today, Bungie has announced that there will be a big reveal for their new game Destiny on February 17, 2013 via Facebook. For those that do not know, Bungie is the studio that produced the original Halo trilogy along with spinoff games such as Halo: Wars and Halo: Reach. Destiny has been hinted at before with a couple concept images, but the reveal on the 17th will bring forth more solid information that could mention what the game is about, what the game is, and, though unlikely, a possible release window.
Previous hints have described Destiny as a sci-fi game set in a futuristic and apocalyptic Earth. Destiny has also been rumored to include “MMO elements”, but has not actually been called an MMO. On a personal note, I’m hoping it is another console-friendly sci-fi game. Not exactly another Halo or a first-person shooter at all for that matter, but a game that I can look forward to where I do not have to pay monthly for it. I am a big fan of Halo, and hope this game can replicate Halo’s success without copying it (a la Call of Duty). Look for a full report of the big reveal for Bungie’s new game Destiny on February 17th.
