OnePlus One owners are surely wondering how this new version of Android revealed at Google I/O will come into play with their smartphones, well here’s a summary of just that. Long story short, OnePlus has announced today that their One smartphone will be receiving the update to Android L shortly after it is unleashed to the world. How shortly after? Take a look at this quote from a OnePlus rep to get that answer:

Well, we’re keen to announce today that the OnePlus One will indeed be getting the L treatment. When, you ask? That depends on Google. We promise to have it done within three months of their releasing a final build.

There you have it OnePlus One owners, you should have your Android L update around three months after it reaches consumers hands. OnePlus One owners are not alone, HTC has also come out and publicly said that their HTC One M7 and M8 will both receive Android L within three months of its release. No other manufacturers have come out and have any update windows at this point.

It is really great to see some OEM’s giving release windows for device updates and being much more transparent on the subject then a year ago. If any other OEM’s decide to come out with release windows for Android L updates we will be sure to let you guys know.
