Today an application that has only been available to beta users came available on the Android Marketplace.  This app is great for those who has gotten a new contract with any cell phone provider other than Sprint.  So what is so good about this app? It keeps track of how much data you have used and what apps are draining your data usage.

So many users may believe that this is just another app that does everything you can do in the settings, but this is different.  After installation, you are prompted to input your data plan and what day of the month your data limit starts over.  Now you can view how much data you have used in the monthly cycle or view how much data each application on your phone is using.  If you click on the individual app you can make it so it only pulls data while over 3G or wifi so that you do not waste your data.

Now that you are using your phone normally, Onavo is always running in the background.  When you download a new app, Onavo checks to see if the app is data efficient or if it will take all your data.  The application also notifies you if any app is currently being a “data hog.”

At this time the application is free in the Android Marketplace. Market Link
