If you have ever bought a Nexus device you know that Google is horrible at bringing official accessories to market along side of their devices. This means that Google will randomly and sporadically release these accessories onto the Play Store with almost no announcement. Well Google has done it again, this time with an officially branded “Nexus” wired charger.

The listing for the charger states that it works with all of the Nexus devices including the Nexus 4 and the 2012 Nexus 7 but this charger should work with any device that charges via microUSB. There is one difference with this charger and that is its wattage and amperage. While the stock Nexus 5 charger charges at 1.2A and the Nexus 7 (2013) charger is at 1.35A. This jump in Amps means that your devices will charge faster but it will also degrade your battery over time so use this charger at your own risk.

If you haven’t been scared off yet, then go ahead and head over to the Play Store and pick up this charger for $14.99 plus shipping.
