It seems that the newer Nexus 4’s that are shipping are shipping with some slightly updated design features as reported by the website MobiFlip. There are now a couple of small nubs on the rear of the phone located just above the two screw holes.

Android Central confirmed the design change with a recently ordered pair of Nexus 4’s. Something they also noticed that had changed was that the rear camera lens was not as exposed as the older version of the Nexus 4. Whether or not that change has some reasoning behind it or if it was for pure design is not known at the moment but it more than likely helps with light leakage.

Overall this should come as good news for all of us because it shows that both Google and LG are still putting work into a somewhat older phone.
