N4-KitKat

As Nexus 4 owners surely know, the OTA update KRT16S started rolling out last week. While this may sound like great news it has unfortunately affected some Nexus 4 owners in a pretty negative way. Some Nexus 4 owners that received the OTA update to Android 4.4 KitKat have been experiencing some disturbing issues such as the home button not responding, Quick Settings not working, Dialer not working, and the list goes on. It’s important to note that these problems have only plagued a small number of Nexus 4s so if you own a Nexus 4 and are now considering not installing the update don’t fret because you should be fine installing it.

A solution has been discovered by people affected by the bugs but it doesn’t come without a cost. A factory reset, which will delete all installed apps and data stored on the device, will be required. So if you are one of the affected Nexus 4 owners and are thinking about factory resetting to resolve the issues then make sure you create a proper backup of your data before you do just in case something goes wrong.
