A brand new patent was filed by Microsoft to give their phones a brand new look (if they decide to actually make a phone with this technology).  Now I’m not saying that Windows Phone 7 will actually start showing in the market share but this will give Windows Phones’ something that no other phone has.  At this moment, Microsoft is making more money licensing patents out to just HTC.

The patent that we are talking about is one that gives several lives to a single phone.  The patent suggests a 4″ screen phone that has a slider that would normally be home to a full qwerty keyboard.  Now, with this patent, you can buy removable accessories and swap them out whenever you like.  In the patent example, Microsoft gives the idea of being able to insert keyboards, gaming comtrols, a second screen and an extra battery.  With the released of Mango coming soon (rumored to be released to AT&T Windows Phone 7 devices as early as next week),  This design would really add some fighting power for the unused software.
