We reported yesterday about how Google is joining the growing world of smart watches and now we are hearing that LG is joining the smart watch market.  According to the Korean Times, LG is investing in their own wearable technology which includes their own smart watch and something that is very simular to Google Glass.

“It is one major part of many currently non-commercialized products under development by LG Electronics,” said the source. “The company has spared no efforts to invest in products that it believes are must-haves to stay ahead technology wise in the market, whatever the situation maybe.”

The watch is supposed to be running a modified version of Android but it could also run some other operating system.  For example, the watch could be running FireFox’s mobile OS since LG is making their own smart phone that will run FireFox mobile.  The thing to remember about pretty much anything that a “source” says: everything is a rumor until it has been officially announced by the company.

With Google, Apple, Samsung, and now LG making smart watches, hopefully there will be some pretty decent wearrable technology for consumers to buy by the end of 2013!
