LG Electronics has announced that they have created a Smart Bulb, lightbulbs that connect to Android and iOS smartphones. According to LG these Smart Bulbs will run for more than 10 years due to them being low-wattage bulbs, that’s with the bulbs being on 5 hours a day. The app that will connect to LG’s Smart Bulbs will require Android 4.3 and up, and iOS 6 and up.

LG’s Smart Bulbs will feature a security mode which will create the illusion that you are home when in reality you are away from home, they will also feature something called Play Mode for when you are listening to music, this feature will be exclusive to Android devices.
