Huawei’s press conference was at 10am on Monday, January 6th at CES 2014. As we walked into Huawei’s press conference, we were pleasantly greeted by bluetooth speakers on every seat for the press. We will be giving away one of the bluetooth speakers to one of our readers sometime soon so STAY TUNED for that!

Huawei started off by talking about their progress in the past year. Huawei is primarily a smartphone company as 87% of their products are now smartphones. They bragged about how they are #3 in worldwide smartphone makers, behind Samsung as #1 and Apple as #2.  They launched the Ascend P6 in 2013 globally and it was very successful. Their goal for 2014 is to get to 80 million smartphones shipped, which is up almost 30 million from their 2013 number.

For their big announcement, Huawei announced their new smartphone: Ascend Mate 2. They spent the rest of the conference giving us details about the phone and showing off all of its features.
