Instead of working with Asus again on the next Nexus tablet Google is reportedly turning to HTC for an 8-inch Nexus tablet. According to anonymous sources quoted by Digitimes the HTC-made Nexus tablet will be released sometime in the third quarter of this year. Why would Google suddenly switch which manufacturer makes it’s Nexus tablets? According to the sources there is two reasons, Google is considering adapting a new design for its tablets and switching to HTC would allow ASUS to focus on selling its own tablets.

It’s important to keep in mind that this is just a rumor and has in no way been confirmed. Despite this we want to know what you guys think, will HTC make a Nexus 8 that gets released this year? Let us know what you think in comments below.
