The HTC Desire 8 was leaked all over the internet about a week ago and today it looks like HTC has essentially made it official. The HTC Weibo account in China posted the same image of the phone that leaked out with a February 24th launch event in Beijing.

Something worth noting is that the ad teases a “super-super” camera, at least that’s what the translation throws at us. Super-super camera may just be a bit of a rough translation but either way it’s got us a bit excited to see what this entails. Leaked specs when it comes to the camera of the Desire 8 say it will have a 13Mp and 5MP camera, neither of which are necessarily super unless they are talking about something other than Megapixels such as the sensor size or 4k recording (which we seriously doubt).

February 24th is not only the date the Desire 8 is be unveiled but it also marks the beginning of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona so it will be interesting to see if HTC brings something pretty to Mobile World Congress as well.
