In an interview with Bloomberg, a Samsung executive said that they are planning to release a high-end Tizen smartphone in August. The Tizen smartphone will be one of three high-end smartphones released by Samsung this year, the others being the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note. The fact that Samsung is going to release a high-end smartphone equipped with Tizen has quite a few people worried that the smartphone giant is slowly moving away from Google and it’s Android OS. This high-end Tizen smartphone they are planning to reveal might be a test run by Samsung to see how it sells so that they may determine if they want to move out of Google’s house.
Even though the Tizen smartphone might be seen as bad news for Google in reality it’s not. Phone manufacturers like LG and HTC are moving up very quickly and becoming the big dogs in the smartphone world and they both use Android. Don’t get me wrong, Samsung leaving Android would definitely hurt Google and the Android market but like I said, LG and HTC would be quick to replace Samsung in sales and popularity as they are already on their way and gaining momentum with every new smartphone and tablet.
