Starting today version 4.3 of Google Play Services will begin to roll out to devices bringing many improvements and features. A new set of APIs, improvements to existing APIs, and improvements to Google Play Games are all bundled up into this significant Google Play Services update. As far as the new APIs go, there have been new Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Drive and Address APIs added to Google Play Services with this update. Google Analytics and Tag Manager had independent APIs prior to this update but now they are all rolled into Google Play Services making them much easier for developers to access and take advantage of.

Moving on to the improvements regarding Google Play Games, this update brings Google Play Services up to par with all of the new features that were added to Google Play Games earlier today. These include cross-platform play and game gifts. This update to Google Play Services is probably going to take some time to roll out to everybody’s devices so you will just have to be patient while waiting for this one, or maybe you got lucky and you have already received this update. Either way, let us know in the comments below.
