Google Catalogs

Lately, Google has been looking at their applications in their arsenal and have decided to kill off the ones that are not being used much.  Google Catalogs seems to be the next item on Google’s list of useless applications because an in-app notification is telling users that the mobile service will be cut off on August 15th.

Google released Catalogs back in the holiday season of 2011 and has only been downloaded between 50k-100k times.  This is an extremely low number for Google application installs so it is very clear why Google would want to stop servicing the application.

There is some good news for those few users who do use the application: the online portion of Catalogs is reported to stay open after the August 15th application kill date.  This version can be found at www.google.com/catalogs.
