Play Books Home – Tablet

A couple weeks ago we showed you a leaked version of the brand new Play Store application and now Google has finally announced it.  This is packing a completely new user interface, larger photos to browse through the store, and make it easier to purchase items.

The update will be rolling out starting today to all devices running 2.2 or higher.  We also have a link to where you can download the official .apk to have the new Play Store right now. Just download and install the new .apk file over the older Play Store and then you will have version 4.0.25 running on your device!

The Official Android Blog had the following to say about the new design:

“The new design focuses on bigger images that jump off the page. Similarly themed content is grouped together so you can hone in on a magazine to read or an app to try. As you move down the page, new recommendations continue to appear so there is always more to see and explore. We’ve also simplified purchasing so you can breeze through checkout and get to enjoying your movie rental or other content.

The redesigned Google Play store app starts rolling out today for Android phones and tablets running Android 2.2 (Froyo) and above. People around the world should see it over the next few weeks. Get ready for a simpler Google Play.”
