This my friends, is something that has been needed for so long that I can’t even begin to express how excited I am.  As of today, Google Maps on Android and desktop will show live transit times and schedules in a select few cities:  Boston, Portland, Ore., San Diego, San Francisco.  Now, when you zoom way in on your map and tap on the transit icon for the stop you are accessing, you will receive live feedback on whether or not your train or bus is actually on time.  You’ll be able to see alerts, delays, and even detours all right from your phone.  Fantastic.
