feedly

If any of you out there were users of Google Reader then you know that Google has recently decided to kill the whole thing completely for no real reason and left it’s religious users scrambling to find a replacement of the same quality. Well if you haven’t found feedly yet then you definitely need to look at this amazing and simple app that is by far the best replacement for Google Reader.

The app lets you select sources to obtain your news from using an easy search function and then put said sources into your own categories that you create so they are easy to manage and find. If the source you want has a url then you can easily set it as one of your sources to get your news from it. The page that you select categories from is colorful and beautiful, just overall pleasing to the eye. From the categories screen you can order your content alphabetically or go into the advanced settings menu and edit things down to the littlest feature. Another thing that I thought was a nice little feature was the ability to enable night mode which sets the apps background to black so that it’s easier on the eyes at night when your scrolling through your articles.

If you haven’t tried this app you need to because it’s just that good, regardless of whether or not you were a Google Reader user this app is a great way to obtain your news.
