LG Nexus 5 FCC - Front and Back

With Google cutting the price on their most popular Nexus handset by $100, it has to be time for Google to announce their latest Nexus smart phone.  Last week Google announced that the next version of Android would be 4.4 KitKat.  That same day, Google accidentally posted a video of a Google employee taking pictures with a device that looked like a Asus Nexus 7 but in the form factor of a phone.  To make it seem even more likely that it was the upcoming Nexus 5 is the fact that you can read the word “Nexus” across the back of the device.

Today pictures of a LG made handset surfaced that look a little too similar to the Nexus phone that was leaked last week. The pictures are extremely blurry but it is extremely easy to see a resemblance to the LG Nexus 4 that are in people’s pocket right now.  Now this model if course is not the retail model and does not have the “Nexus” name on the back of the device but there is a pretty good chance that what we are looking at is in fact the Nexus 5.

Even though the pictures are blurry, we can see that the headphone jack will still be on top of the device, the microUSB changing/syncing port is located on the bottom, and that the power/lock button and the volume rocker are on either side of the phone. Hopefully we will hear from Google soon confirming their latest Nexus devices along with the newest version of Android!
