Glass Googler Group

One of the biggest restrictions of Google Glass in its Explorer form is that people who wear prescription glasses either have to wear Glass over the frames, hack the frames enough to attach the futuristic devices, wear contact lens, or just not wear them at all. Since the beginning Google has been promising people that by the time for the consumer launch, there will be prescription eye-ware that will be made for Glass.

Sarah Price Prescription Glass

In the last couple of weeks we have seen pictures of Googlers wearing their Glass attached to prescription frames but there have been no new news about the product coming to market. Yesterday Googler Brian Matiash took to Google Plus to show off some pictures of the new Glass compatible frames. When looking at the frames it can be seen that these frames were designed specifically for the Glass device itself and could not be worn by themselves comfortably.

Hopefully we will be getting more news about the frames soon. Glass itself is not going to be released until sometime next year but it would interesting to see if Google would start selling these frames to current Glass Explorers so that they would begin testing out these prescription frames.
