Chromecast Plugged In

Starting today, the Chrome team is pushing an over the air update to the Chromecast.  This update will be making its way to everyone’s Chromecast over the next couple of days.  This update is to “improve performance, reliability and security.”

“Today, we are pushing a bug fix update to Chromecast devices to improve performance, reliability and security. The update will roll out over the next few days and will happen automatically; users do not need to take any action.”

Besides the news about the actual update, the best news from all of this is that we will know exactly when there is an update and what it contains. This means that the Chrome team will be handling the Chromecast updates just like they do with Chrome OS and the Chrome browser: they push updates to the devices without the need of the consumer to install it.

Do you like that these updates happen automatically without your knowledge or do you like to know everything that happens to your devices? Let us know in the comments!
