OK-Google-Nexus-5

This morning the Chrome Beta app on Android received an update which crushed a lot of known bugs except the biggest one. The last version of Chrome Beta introduced a pretty significant bug which caused “Hotword Detection” on the Nexus 5 to completely stop working. This irked a lot of Nexus 5 owners including myself. We patiently waited for an update hoping it would include a fix for the sizable bug but obviously that did not come to fruition.

The bug received a decent amount of publicity and bug reports to the Chromium team and we are sure that they are working on a fix to the bug. This article was not written so that you guys would go nag the Chromium team to fix the problem but instead to let all you Nexus 5 owners know that your Nexus 5 is not broken. If you own a Nexus 5 and use Chrome Beta then it looks like you may just have to switch to the stable Chrome app for awhile instead. We will keep you posted on any news regarding the Hotword Detection bug as it becomes available.
