The patent, filed on October 26th, 2011, details a “smart-watch with user interface features.” It has been a long time rumor that Google will also be creating a smart-watch as a companion to Android phones/tablets. With this second patent filed for a wearable computer on your wrist, and the countless rumors/leaks, it is extremely clear that Google will for sure bring the smart-watch to the market.

The patent details information about how the bezel would be used like Glass’s side touch-panel. The touch sensitive side will be used to get around the interface.

Personally, I hope that Google’s smart watch works perfectly with Glass. Specially, I am hoping that the watch will replace the smartphone. As long as the watch can have 3G/4G radios in it, it would work perfectly with a modified version of vanilla Android. Then once connected to Glass, it would be the device that tethers internet to Glass. With the two devices I do not see the need for a phone since the watch will be able to view websites, show widgets, and play games while Glass can answer texts, emails, phone calls, and do searches.

Google Keep, the note keeping / checklist application that Google released for Android awhile back now has a companion application for the Chrome browser. Previously, if you wanted to access your Keep files, you would have to go directly to where they are saved on Drive (drive.google.com/keep). With this new application, users can edit it in real-time with the application on your Android devices.

Once you have downloaded and installed the Chrome application, Keep creates its’ own window. The window shows exactly what you would see on your phone/tablet.

Since the release of the Asus Nexus 7, different OEMs have been trying to bring cheap, 7-inch tablets to the market. Unfortunately, it does not seem like anyone can match the N7′s Tegra 3 quad-core process and 1280X720 resolution display. The latest cheap tablet is the third generation of the Samsung Galaxy Tab (7.0″).

Just like every other cheap tablet on the market, the Tab 3 has horrible internal hardware. The official specs are below but this tablet is barely any better than the Galaxy Tab 2.

It was only a matter of time before one of the Glass Explorers decided to unscrew the tiny screw that holds the computer part of Glass onto the band/frame. Below is what the developer who took apart his Glass had to say about the device:

You will need a T6 screwdriver to remove the frame

Part of the frames slides onto the a section near the battery pack

It is possible to modify your frames to screw onto Glass and clip onto the headset

Below are pictures of the device unscrewed from the frame. Hopefully soon someone will find away to attach this to a pair of prescription glasses!

Since Glass was announced, it has been rumored that it was running a skinned version of Android. It was then confirmed several days ago that it was for sure running Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. Now that some developers have received their Explorer Edition of Glass, they have hacked the software enabling them to view the native Android operating system. In addition to this, they have also been able to side-load Android applications.

While it is great that the device is hackable to the point that vanilla Android can be used on the device but this may cause issues with the battery life and the speed of the device. This could be an issue because the specially made timeline and cards that originally run on the device are made to save battery life.

Only time will tell to see what will come out of everything the developers will be able to do with their devices.
