The concept of this device was leaked back last April and was finally seen by the public through a pexi-glass display.  ASUS stated that the device we saw was not the final concept, but they promised that it would be out “soon.”  Enter Mobile World Congress in Barcelonia on Febraury 27th.  Is that soon enough?

This Padfone design is a brilliant idea that I believe will be as popular as ASUS’s own Transformer Prime.  The only bad thing about the Padfone?  There is no evidence of it coming to the United States.  At CES, ASUS reps told reporters that there are no deals at the moment with states side carriers and no sign of them ever carrying the device.  Unlocked GSM version maybe? Would you rather by a phone that can become a full sized tablet or a giant phone that can be called a phablet like the Samsung Galaxy Note? Let us know your opinions below.

Below is a preview of the Padfone that MoDaCo was able to get while at CES.  In the video the the device is running ICS but remember, this is not the final design.
