A video was posted today by Ask A Dev on YouTube that pertains very much to new topic in the Android world, Android Wear. The question for this Ask A Dev video was “What does a developer need to know about Android Wear?”, Android Engineer Sagar Seth was there to answer that. One of the first things Segar points out is that Android Wear development is going to be significantly different from plain old Android development for a phone or tablet, we assumed this to be the case. But then things got a little more interesting, he continued on to talk about the fact that Android Wear was specifically designed for notifications or “Information at a glance” as Sagar puts it, this means we probably aren’t going to see any full-fledged apps running on an Android Wear device (thank God).

One of the reasons that developing for Android Wear is going to be so different is because the design guidelines for Android Wear are going to be so different from regular Android devices. Sagar talked about this and even goes a little into detail about what Android Wear is made to do, if you would like to take a look at the video you can watch it below.
